EMPLOYEE HEALTH BENEFITS BROKER / CONSULTANT

The City of Sierra Vista is seeking a broker/consultant to provide services for its employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, and other benefits. The selected firm will work with the City's Human Resources staff to ensure comprehensive and competitively priced insurance coverage. The scope of work includes administering group insurance plans, reviewing claims experience, advising on funding levels, and providing excellent customer service. The City is looking for a firm with experience working with public entities, self-funded groups, and Arizona rules and regulations. The contract will be for three years with an option to extend for two additional one-year periods. • Key services include: • Administering group insurance plans • Reviewing claims experience • Advising on funding levels • Providing excellent customer service • Assisting with open enrollment meetings • Researching and advising on new developments in state and federal law • Providing compliance with state and federal laws and regulations • Monitoring law and regulation changes related to health benefits • Preparing bid specifications and soliciting proposals from insurance markets • Interfacing with insurance carriers to resolve problems associated with benefit programs • Reviewing existing programs and identifying recommendations for changes • Providing COBRA administrative services • Responding promptly to staff and management inquiries
