Transit Life Insurance

The City of St. Joseph is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to furnish Life/AD&D Insurance for the employees and retirees of St. Joseph Transit, Inc. The insurance plan specifications include a "No loss/No gain" situation, where no one will be penalized because of a change in carriers. The plan covers regular full-time employees, retirees, and early retirees, with varying life insurance benefits. Proposers must provide a three-year rate guarantee, describe account management services, and provide references for similar accounts. • The City prefers policies with a "Best's" Rating of A- or above. • The proposal must include a sample contract to be executed by the City of St. Joseph. • Proposals will be evaluated based on rates, multiple year rate guarantee, contract provisions, financial rating, and references. • The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or to waive technical defects as it may deem desirable. • The City has a DBE Goal of .1% and certified firms are encouraged to bid.
