Amarillo VA Temporary Housing Lodging

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide temporary hotel lodging for eligible Veterans in need of treatment at the Amarillo VA Health Care System. The contractor's lodging facility must be located within a five-mile radius of the Amarillo VA Health Care System. The contractor must provide rooms with a refrigerator and microwave, and allow spouses, significant others, or caretakers to stay with the patients at no additional cost. The contractor must also provide handicapped accessible parking and rooms, and comply with all city, county, and state hotel/motel codes and ordinances. Some key requirements for the contractor include: • Providing 5 rooms readily available on a weekly basis, Sunday through Thursday • Allowing food to be delivered to their facility • Having a hotel facility within walking distance of a restaurant • Complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act of 1990 • Maintaining a list of restaurants near the hotel and providing menus for patients The contract will be for a period of 4 years, with an estimated minimum value of $2,500 and an estimated maximum value of $600,000.
