ITS Consulting - Planning Phase

The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority is seeking a consulting firm to provide project management support for the planning phase of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) replacement project. The selected consultant will assist in selecting a procurement vehicle, developing a project plan, and evaluating vendor proposals. The project aims to implement a "best in class" ITS system that meets current and future needs, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and integration with existing systems. Key requirements include assessing staffing and experience needs, identifying necessary integrations, and developing a governance structure and procurement strategy. • The ITS system should include functionalities such as connected transit systems, automated passenger counters, automated vehicle announcements, real-time operations management, yard management, and vehicle health monitoring. • The system should integrate with existing systems, including Trapeze FX, Trapeze EAM, and Power BI. • The consultant should provide a 20-year workforce and organizational readiness plan, an integration requirements matrix, and a proposed project management structure. • The project has a hard deadline for completion by August 2027.
