Mobile Video Security Systems for CyRide Buses

The Ames Transit Agency (d/b/a CyRide) is seeking proposals for the purchase and installation of mobile video security systems for its fleet of buses. The system should include cameras, digital video recorders, and remote access/video downloading capabilities. The initial contract period will be from the date of award through December 31, 2026, with the option of four additional 12-month renewal periods. The system must meet the minimum specifications listed in the request for proposal. • The system should support a minimum of 13 cameras simultaneously. • The system should be capable of recording in color and have low-light level recording capabilities. • The system should have remote access/video downloading capabilities using an industry-standard IP network. • The system should have a minimum of 2 terabytes of persistent data storage. • The system should be capable of overwriting the oldest recordings without external prompting when the persistent storage becomes full. Some of the key features and requirements of the system include: - Cameras with IP standards over copper Ethernet wiring - Power delivery to cameras using Power over Ethernet standards - Capability to disable infrared light-emitting diodes via software setting or physical switch - Capability to integrate third-party Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) conformant cameras - Digital video recorder with a minimum of 2 years warranty - Remote access/video downloading capabilities using an industry-standard IP network - Support for at least one of the following: an optional external Wi-Fi compatible wireless adapter or an integrated Wi-Fi compatible wireless adapter - Capability to record vehicle speed, brake, 3-axis acceleration, and turn signal data - Capability to support a reverse monitor visible to the bus operator - Event marker button mounted within reach of the operator - Diagnostic indicator(s) the operator can observe from the operator area - Persistent data storage with at least 2 terabytes of space available for recording video - Capability to overwrite the oldest recordings without external prompting when the persistent storage becomes full - Removable or transferable video data to an industry-standard removable storage mechanism - Video review software with the ability to display all recorded video at the same time, zoom and capture pictures, and export video with vehicle signal data to a usable video format.
