The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is conducting market research to identify contractors capable of providing a 1 Megawatt (MW) box furnace for NETL’s Burner Laboratory for Alternative Fuels and Zero-Carbon Energy (BLAZE) facility. The box furnace will be used to test multi-burner arrangements with advanced fuels, enabling the evaluation of burner modifications and flame-to-flame interactions. The furnace will facilitate cost-effective retrofits and validate computational models. • The furnace must meet the specifications outlined in Attachment A to this Sources Sought notice. • Respondents must provide a cover page with their company's information, including name, address, phone number, email address, Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number, CAGE code (if applicable), and business size. • Respondents must also provide a brief Statement of Capabilities detailing how their company meets the requirements outlined in Attachment A. • The submission deadline is June 20, 2026, 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
