Zoning Code Consultant

The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking a consultant team to support a comprehensive analysis of the city's zoning code and provide technical support with drafting and adopting recommended code amendments. The project aims to implement strategies identified in the City Plan, Affordable Housing Strategy and Action Plan, and Sustainability Plan. The consultant will conduct a zoning code analysis, provide technical support for code amendments, and support policy adoption. The project is funded through a combination of city and federal grant funds. • The consultant will analyze the zoning code to identify barriers to housing in commercial areas and evaluate lot size and width requirements to allow infill development in established residential neighborhoods. • The consultant will provide recommendations to inform updates to zoning districts, permitted uses, and development standards. • The consultant will support policy adoption by attending planning commission and city council meetings and providing technical input on draft refinement.
