The Virginia Tech Athletics Department is searching for a partner to provide efficient, reliable, and effective, adjustable temperature stadium seating benches for use by athletes during games. The proposed solution will need to provide thermal regulation depending upon game day conditions, both hot and cold. The benches must be sturdy, reliable, and easy to use, with a durable material that is conducive to heat/cold exchange between the bench and athletes. The benches will need to be able to operate in all weather conditions and have integrated helmet stands, heated foot platforms, and customizable with Virginia Tech branding and logos.
• The benches must be able to provide reliable, consistent, and adjustable heat output in cold weather environments, with a target surface heat temperature range of between 90 and 110-degrees Fahrenheit uniformly across the bench.
• The benches must provide active cooling using forced air, chilled air tubing, or equivalent, with a target cooling capability to reduce seating area temperature by 15 to 25 degrees relative to ambient temperature.
• The benches must have an adjustable fan and additional cooling output settings, with player safety being the highest priority, and surfaces must remain safe to the touch and uniformly heated/cooled with no hotspots or extreme cold points.
• The vendor must provide a complete maintenance schedule, cleaning instructions, replacement parts list, service support availability during the season, as well as a product warranty.
• The vendor must provide on-site delivery and initial setup, including full assembly, and conduct initial system testing at Lane Stadium and train required staff on equipment usage.
