The California State Civil Rights Department is seeking a single vendor to provide statewide Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) services for a variety of government functions, including intake interviews, investigations, mediations, webinars, public hearings, council meetings, and legal depositions. The contractor must support both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation via video platforms (primarily Microsoft Teams and Zoom), cover a broad set of languages (including ASL, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, Arabic, Armenian, Russian, Portuguese, Punjabi, Tagalog, Telugu, and others), and maintain an online request portal for CRD staff. The contract term is three years with a total ceiling of $75,000, and the award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder that meets all qualification and documentation requirements.
• Provide VRI for an estimated mix of regular‑hour, emergency, after‑hours, and short‑notice assignments across the state.
• Supply qualified interpreters (minimum 2 years experience) and court‑certified interpreters for depositions as required.
• Maintain a live scheduling portal, deliver high‑quality audio/video, and adhere to strict confidentiality and ethics standards.
• Submit a complete rate sheet for every language/mode, meet small‑business/DVBE preference documentation if pursued, and invoice monthly with 45‑day payment terms.
