Aerial Spraying and Reconnaissance Services 2026

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking bids for aerial spraying and reconnaissance services to control invasive species on 13 DNR-managed properties across Wisconsin. The project involves applying herbicide by unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to plots of invasive cattail, phragmites, reed mannagrass, purple loosestrife, and brush. Additionally, the contractor will provide drone reconnaissance and mapping services to help identify and target invasive species for follow-up spraying work. The goal of the project is to suppress the spread and dominance of these species, revitalizing native plant communities, improving habitat for wildlife, and improving access for people who recreate in and manage DNR public properties. • The project will take place between July 15 and September 15, 2026. • The contractor will be responsible for spraying approximately 367 acres across 13 properties. • Additional polygons and acres may be targeted for spray treatments during the contract period. • The contractor must abide by federal requirements regarding the use of approved companies if federal funding is indicated for a project site.
