California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking a qualified contractor to provide on‑call, fully‑operated rental of one self‑propelled asphalt grinder and one self‑propelled concrete profile grinder across eight counties. The contractor must be able to deliver equipment within 72 hours of a service request, maintain 24/7 availability, and supply all labor, fuel, maintenance, insurance, and required permits. No subcontracting is allowed; the prime must own the equipment and staff. The contract is estimated to run from June 1 2027 through May 31 2030, with service requests limited to three‑month periods. Bidders must hold a current Motor Carrier Permit, DIR registration, and an appropriate CSLB license (Class A or C‑12) and meet small‑business/DVBE preference criteria if applicable.
