Grandstand Lighting, Sound and Stage

The South Dakota State Fair is seeking proposals for grandstand sound, lighting, and stage equipment during the 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030 annual South Dakota State Fair. The proposal must be based on a per year basis. The contractor will provide sound, lighting, and stage equipment for the main concerts held at the grandstand during the South Dakota State Fair. The equipment and services must meet specific requirements, including state-of-the-art technology and high-quality sound and lighting systems. The contractor will also be responsible for transporting and setting up the equipment, as well as providing technicians to operate the systems. Some key requirements include: * Providing a grandstand hydraulic mobile stage with a minimum 42’ wide x 40’ deep roof and a minimum of 22’ trim height from stage deck to bottom of roof truss * Providing a grandstand stage lighting system with a minimum of 14 intelligent wash lighting fixtures, 6 intelligent profile lighting fixtures, and 4 intelligent strobe lighting fixtures * Providing a grandstand audio system with a minimum of 24 line array elements, 12 out-fill speakers, and 12 dual 18” subwoofers * Providing a monitor system with a minimum of 12 monitor floor wedges and 1 drum monitor sub * Providing microphones, microphone stands, direct boxes, and microphone cables * Providing a snake system with a minimum of 250’ x 52 channel audio snake and 250’ x 12 channel main drive snake * Providing power distribution with a minimum of 200 amp / 5 wire / 3 phase power distro and 200’ of 2/0, 5-Wire / 3-Phase Feeder Cable The successful contractor will be required to enter into a contract with the State of South Dakota for a period of 5 years, beginning January 1, 2026, and ending December 31, 2030.
