The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services (DES) is seeking feedback on body scanners to better understand industry standard best practices, performance expectations, and cost considerations. The state is developing specifications for body scanners and is requesting input from the business community. The purpose of this RFI is to gather information to develop a future competitive procurement that meets the needs of operational effectiveness, risk management, and total cost of proprietorship. • The RFI is seeking information on certifications, testing, or documentation that meets applicable safety, security, and regulatory requirements. • The RFI is also seeking information on how the industry addresses safety for both operators and individuals being scanned. • The RFI is seeking information on how body scanner systems support individuals with mobility or other needs. • The RFI is seeking information on the expected service life of body scanner equipment, warranty, and maintenance support. • The RFI is seeking information on training provided, support options, and data collection and privacy standards.
