Material Handling & Rigging Services

The Idaho National Laboratory (INL), via Battelle Energy Alliance, is seeking an Expression of Interest (EOI) from vendors capable of providing high‑capacity material handling, rigging, and transport services for the National Reactor Innovation Center’s advanced nuclear micro‑reactor testing program. The effort will be structured as a Blanket Master Contract (BMC) with task orders issued from FY2027 through FY2032, supporting critical lifts up to 350 tons and 40 ft in length, remote operation in high‑radiation environments, and compliance with ASME and DOE lifting standards. Vendors must demonstrate heavy‑rigging experience, NQA‑1 quality certification, and the ability to operate equipment in extreme temperatures. • Develop lift plans, engineering calculations, and safety procedures for each reactor move. • Install and operate specialized handling equipment (hydraulic slides, powered skates, turntables, rigging, spreader bars, etc.). • Transport reactors and components across INL property using cranes, SPMTs, crawler transporters, or similar equipment. • Install and remove reactors from testbed facilities, including remote operation for irradiated reactors. • Build mock‑ups and perform load testing to verify equipment before use. • Provide documentation of NQA‑1 certification, quality program, and compliance with federal procurement and INL data‑control requirements.
