The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) is soliciting proposals from licensed Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) providers to operate 10‑15 high‑acuity beds for children and youth with severe mental health and behavioral needs. The contract will start on January 1 2027 for an initial one‑year term, with the possibility of up to four additional one‑year renewals at the State’s discretion. The State will reimburse an incentive rate in addition to the standard Medicaid daily rate for occupied beds and a separate vacancy rate when beds are empty.
