UW The Alliance - Experts by Experience Council

University of Washington is seeking individuals with lived experience in Washington’s child‑welfare system to serve on an “Experts by Experience Council.” Council members will help shape curriculum, improve training materials, and assist in planning conferences for the Alliance’s professional development program. The role is primarily virtual, with three 90‑minute council meetings per year plus an onboarding session and preparation time. Participants are expected to contribute up to 36 hours of collaboration over a 12‑ or 18‑month contract period ending June 30 2027. • Provide lived‑experience insight to guide curriculum and training development. • Attend three virtual council meetings annually (≈ 90 minutes each) and complete ~1 hour of pre‑meeting preparation. • May be asked to join additional work‑groups or project tasks related to curriculum development. • Must have recent (within 2 years) experience as a birth/first parent, foster/kinship caregiver, former youth in care, or related role in Washington state. • Required to supply two references and complete a self‑identification questionnaire.
