Description
The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) is issuing an RFI to gauge interest from qualified design‑build teams for a project that will relocate existing battery‑electric‑bus (BEB) charging equipment, install additional power blocks and chargers, construct a pre‑engineered canopy with associated civil works, and replace asphalt with concrete pavement. The successful team will be responsible for full design development (advancing a 15 % preliminary design to a complete design package) and construction, delivering a guaranteed‑maximum‑price (GMP) contract.
• Scope includes electrical relocation/installation, structural canopy construction, concrete paving, drainage, and utility work.
• Must be a U.S.‑based design‑build entity meeting Federal Transit Administration (FTA) criteria and able to certify on ChargePoint equipment.
• RFQ/P expected on or before 16 Nov 2026; proposals due 29 Dec 2026; award and project start targeted for Feb 2027.
