Description
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through the Kentucky Department of Education, seeks qualified individuals or firms to provide IDEA mediation services statewide. Mediators will resolve disputes between local education agencies and parents of students with disabilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Contracts are awarded on a “pay‑as‑you‑go” basis at a flat hourly rate of $75, with reimbursement for approved travel, training, and related expenses. No minimum volume of work is guaranteed; however, each awardee must be able to provide at least 80 hours of mediation services per year and be available to travel throughout Kentucky. Evaluation is based on mandatory requirements, mediation experience, qualifications, availability, and an optional oral presentation. The contract term runs from January 1 2027 to June 30 2028, with the possibility of two additional two‑year renewals.
