California Gulch Groundwater Monitoring

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is seeking a qualified contractor to provide technical support for groundwater monitoring at the California Gulch Superfund Site in Lake County, Colorado. The work includes maintaining and expanding the existing groundwater monitoring network, operating an early‑alert mine‑pool system, and delivering data and reporting in accordance with Operable Unit 12 Record of Decision requirements. The contract is a fixed‑price, one‑year award starting 1 Feb 2027 with the possibility of up to four one‑year extensions, for a total potential duration of five years. The annual budget is approximately $75,000, not to exceed $375,000 over the full term. • Provide routine groundwater sampling, analysis, and data management. • Maintain and calibrate the existing monitoring wells and early‑alert mine‑pool sensors. • Update and manage the public groundwater monitoring website. • Deliver quarterly and final reports meeting EPA and CDPHE specifications. • Must have at least five years of relevant groundwater monitoring experience, including work at Superfund or mining sites, and demonstrate capability to access sites year‑round.
