OPEN STREETS EVENT COORDINATOR AND MANAGEMENT SERVICES

The City of Bell is seeking a proposal for Open Streets Event Coordinator and Management Services. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive planning, coordination, and operational management for a multi-jurisdictional Open Streets event. The event aims to promote active transportation, community engagement, and local economic activity by transforming major corridors into safe, car-free public spaces. The coordinator will oversee all phases of the project, including pre-event planning, stakeholder coordination, logistics management, event programming, and post-event evaluation. Key responsibilities include coordinating with city departments, developing traffic control plans, managing vendor and activity hub placements, and implementing multilingual community outreach. Some of the key aspects of the job include: • Coordinating with city officials, law enforcement, and emergency services to ensure a safe event • Developing a comprehensive event timeline and traffic control plans • Identifying and coordinating Activation Hubs, hydration stations, and first aid stations along the route • Conducting community outreach and marketing to ensure strong participation and community awareness • Managing event logistics, including route planning, barricade and signage installation, and volunteer coordination • Providing post-event reporting, including participant feedback and operational performance metrics
