The City of Chicago is soliciting a contractor to provide vehicle safety inspection testing services for its fleet. The contractor must operate an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Official Testing Station, employ certified safety testers, and perform comprehensive inspections (brakes, lights, horns, etc.) on single‑ and dual‑wheel‑axle vehicles, issuing safety‑certification stickers for passing units. Up to 130 inspections per axle type and 130 stickers will be required over a five‑year contract, with re‑inspections at no charge after repairs.
