RFP - Convention and Tourism Promotion and Destination Marketing Services

The City of Overland Park, Kansas is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive tourism‑marketing, convention‑sales, and sports‑tourism services under a city‑wide contract funded by the Transient Guest Tax. The selected firm will develop integrated annual marketing plans, drive group and convention sales, support sports events, and deliver economic‑impact reporting while complying with Kansas statutes and city charter requirements. The scope includes brand promotion, multi‑venue event coordination, revenue optimization, strategic community building, and regular performance reporting. • Develop and execute a full‑year Destination Marketing & Tourism Plan (brand, group sales, sports tourism). • Manage long‑term convention sales and multi‑hotel placement for the Overland Park Convention Center (≥ 18‑month horizon). • Provide economic‑impact analysis, TGT forecasting, and separate accounting for revenues > $25 k. • Deliver required reports, presentations, and compliance documentation to the City Council/FAED Committee. • Must have ≥ 10 years experience, appropriate insurance coverage, and ability to manage a $2‑3 million annual program.
