RFP - Convention and Tourism Promotion and Destination Marketing Services

The City of Overland Park seeks a professional marketing and tourism services firm to develop and execute an integrated destination‑marketing program. The vendor will create annual marketing, group‑sales, and sports‑tourism plans, drive visitor‑spending, manage the transient‑guest‑tax fund, and provide ongoing reporting and compliance. The contract is funded primarily by the city’s Transient Guest Tax and is expected to start April 1 2027. • Develop a comprehensive brand‑marketing and destination‑promotion strategy (Section A). • Lead long‑term convention‑sales and multi‑hotel placement for the Overland Park Convention Center (Section B). • Attract and support sporting events at local facilities, producing a sports‑tourism plan (Section C). • Monitor and forecast transient‑guest‑tax revenues, provide separate accounting if revenues exceed $25 k (Section D‑F). • Deliver annual reports, presentations, and ensure compliance with Kansas statutes and city ordinances.
