Description
The State of Iowa DAS is seeking a qualified design firm to provide full professional design services for replacing two non‑operational Reznor HVAC units at the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women (ICIW) Iowa Prison Industries (IPI) building in Mitchellville. The scope includes heating, cooling, controls, electrical, ductwork, equipment pads, and related documentation from schematic design through construction administration and close‑out. The contract will be awarded under a modified ConsensusDoc 803 and the designer must be licensed in Iowa. Work is expected to begin upon contract execution and continue through design development, construction documents, and construction phase support, with an overall schedule extending to November 2027.
• Replace two existing Reznor heating units (≈ 9,000 sf West side, ≈ 21,000 sf East side) with new heating‑cooling‑control systems.
• Provide full design package: schematic, design development, 50 % & 95 % construction documents, cost opinions, and construction administration.
• Conduct field examinations, coordinate with utilities, develop material recommendations, and produce required code‑compliant documentation.
• Participate in pre‑proposal conference (11/03/2026) – optional, virtual or on‑site.
• Submit proposals via Iowa IMPACS by 2:00 PM on 11/18/2026.
• Minimum 120‑day price firm‑ness after proposal deadline.
